The evocative, haunting work on display in Edwards ranged far beyond photography, into painting, printmak- ing, bookmaking, poetry, and video. “Henrieke crosses boundaries joyfully to use media in combination,” says gallery co-curator (and photography teacher) Franz Nicolay. “At the core of her work is a quest for both visual and graphic simplicity, all rooted in her natural surroundings. Her ‘Snow Poem’ series, for example, reminds you of the terse minimalism of sumi brush work, a sort of ‘visual haiku’.”
